Clean Financial Excel Data
Budget: ₹750 – ₹1,250 INR
I have several Excel workbooks filled with financial records that now need a thorough scrub. The task is strictly data cleaning—no entry or analysis—so I can rely on every figure when we prepare our next set of reports.
What I’ll hand over
• Multiple Excel spreadsheets containing the raw financial data
• A brief data dictionary that explains each column and the validations we already use internally
What I need back
• The same files, cleansed and formatted consistently
• A concise change log that details duplicates removed, formats standardised, and any anomalies you flagged for review
Key cleaning actions
• Remove duplicate transaction IDs and blank rows
• Standardise dates to ISO (YYYY-MM-DD) and currency fields to numeric values with two-decimals
• Address obvious entry errors; where automatic repair isn’t possible, highlight the row in an “Issues” sheet
• Preserve original column order, worksheet names, and formulas that remain valid
Acceptance criteria
1. Zero duplicate IDs across all sheets
2. Uniform date and currency formats throughout
3. Separate “Issues” worksheet listing anything that couldn’t be corrected automatically
I’ll sign off once the datasets load into our reporting model without errors. Let me know your expected turnaround time and any clarifying questions so we can get started right away.
