Bus Network Demand Modeler with PTV Visum -- 2
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
1. Transit Demand Modeling
• Build and configure a PTV Visum public transport model for a city bus network
• Define and model peak and off-peak demand periods
• Apply appropriate public transport assignment (frequency-based assignment such as PAT-028, where applicable)
2. OD Matrix & Passenger Flow Analysis
• Integrate historical transit data (e.g., AFC, boarding counts, passenger counts)
• Develop and/or calibrate origin–destination (OD) matrices
• Produce passenger flow outputs including:
• Passenger volumes per route and network segment
• Boardings and alightings by stop
• Load factors and crowding indicators
3. Forecasting & Scenario Analysis
• Perform passenger demand forecasting
• Analyze service scenarios such as:
• Frequency changes
• Route restructuring
• Capacity adjustments
• Compare peak vs off-peak performance
4. Route Optimization Support
• Identify under-utilized and over-crowded routes
• Support route optimization decisions using model outputs
• Provide planning-ready KPIs and insights
