Excel (Mac) Power Query – Supplier Price Comparator (EAN / UPC)

Project Description

I am looking for an experienced Excel / Power Query specialist to build a simple and robust price comparison tool.

The goal is to automatically compare multiple supplier price lists and identify the cheapest supplier for each product.

Important:
This project has already been attempted and failed due to over-complex and untested solutions.
I need a clean, reliable and fully working solution.

Input Data

Multiple supplier Excel files.

Each file may contain:

EAN or UPC (product identifier)
Price
Description (optional)
Brand (optional)
Format / size (optional)

Example:

EAN | Description | Brand | Format | Price
12345678 | Whisky 12Y | BrandX | 70cl | 12.50

Prices may be:

European format (12,50)
US format (12.50)

Required Functionality

The solution must:

Read multiple supplier Excel files
Detect EAN or UPC
Normalize prices (EU / US formats)
Match products across suppliers
Create a comparison table
Calculate:
Best Price
Cheapest Supplier
Include product data:
Description
Brand
Format
