DaVinci Resolve Shorts Editor – Australian Construction Podcast (Ongoing)

We produce a professional podcast featuring two construction industry leaders based in Australia. Each episode runs approximately 90 minutes and is recorded and edited in DaVinci Resolve Studio. I'm looking for a skilled shorts editor to turn pre-selected moments from each episode into 6–8 polished vertical (9:16) clips suitable for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

This is an ongoing role (one episode every 14 days) and I'm looking for someone reliable to become a regular collaborator.

What You'll Receive
*Please see screenshot attached for a timeline example of what you'll receive
- Access to a Google Drive folder containing all source media and a DaVinci Resolve Timeline (.drt) file
- The timeline will already have 8 sections marked/cut – these are your starting points. You do not need to watch the longform or select your own moments, it is simply a task to turn these preselected sections (1-3 minutes or so) into 30-60 second engaging reels.
- No colour grading or audio processing is required; both are handled in-house

Your Deliverables

For each episode, you will produce 6–8 fully finalised short-form clips (30–60 seconds each) including:

- Reframed/cropped to 9:16 vertical format
- Engaging captions (styled appropriately for Reels/Shorts – not plain subtitles)
- Cuts and pacing optimised for short-form retention and engagement
- No b-roll – the focus is making the talking head format as dynamic and watchable as possible through editing rhythm, caption style, and framing
- Delivered as a DaVinci Resolve project file (with media or clearly linked to the provided source files)

Content Context – Please Read

This podcast is niche and the content is industry-specific. To do this well, you need to be able to identify what's engaging and what isn't within that context. Topics include:

- The Australian construction industry (residential and commercial)
- Australian trades culture (RDOs, EBAs, subcontractor relationships, site culture)
- Australian slang and idioms

You don't need to be a tradie, but you do need enough cultural awareness to understand the humour, the frustration, and the moments that will resonate with an Australian trades audience. Otherwise, this project may not be the right fit.

Requirements

- Proficient in DaVinci Resolve Studio
- Strong understanding of short-form content strategy (hooks, pacing, captions)
- Able to turn around 6–8 clips within 5–7 days of receiving the project file
- Familiarity with Australian English and ideally Australian trades/construction content

Budget

$150 AUD per episode (fixed price). This is a streamlined edit – no colour grade, no audio work, no b-roll sourcing. The rate reflects that scope.

If you're fast, consistent, and culturally across the content, this is fun and reliable recurring work!
