Bilingual Partner for Software Agency (Japanese required)
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I run a growing software agency that works with clients across Japan and overseas, and I’m looking for a bilingual partner in Japan who can keep our communication flow smooth. On a typical day you’ll be diving into our shared inbox, sorting and replying to messages in Japanese, then translating any client communications that the English-speaking development team needs to see. Clear, accurate Japanese-to-English translation is essential—I rely on you to preserve tone and technical nuance so nothing is lost between the sales desk and the engineers.
Alongside email management, you’ll handle first-tier customer support. When clients raise general questions or small tickets, you’ll respond directly in their language, escalate anything technical to our developers, and track the thread until it’s closed. Familiarity with common tools such as Gmail (or Outlook), Slack, and a help-desk platform like Zendesk or Freshdesk will help you settle in quickly, but I’m happy to walk you through our exact stack.
I work mainly during Japanese business hours, so I’d like at least a few overlapping hours each weekday for real-time questions. Confidentiality is a must; you’ll be privy to contracts, licensing details, and internal project notes.
Deliverables I’ll use to gauge success:
• A daily brief summarising inbox status and any items awaiting my input
• Translated client messages presented in clear, professional English within agreed turnaround times
• Support tickets updated and, where possible, resolved or correctly escalated the same day
If you can keep communication crisp, clients happy, and my inbox sane, let’s discuss how we can start this week.
