Perfect Latte Espresso Machine Tutorial
Budget: $15 – $25 AUD
I recently bought an espresso machine and can manage the on-off switch, but that’s about it. I’d like a skilled barista to come over (or connect live on video if you’re not local) and walk me through the basic operation so I stop guessing at buttons and enjoy café-quality drinks at home.
The two areas I’m most excited to master are milk frothing techniques and latte art. A silky micro-foam, a steady pour, and a simple heart on top of my cup are the immediate goals. While I don’t need an in-depth dive into advanced settings or a full cleaning regimen right now, I do want to understand the essential routine so I don’t damage the machine between sessions.
Deliverables
• 60–90 minute hands-on tutorial focused on: turning the machine on, dosing/tamping for a balanced shot, steaming milk to the right temperature and texture, and pouring basic latte art.
• Quick-reference cheat sheet (PDF or printed) summarising grind range, shot timings, milk texture cues, and a step-by-step for a heart pour.
• One follow-up Q&A (15 min) within a week to troubleshoot anything that crops up once I practise on my own.
I have fresh beans, milk, and all accessories ready; bring any other tools you prefer (thermometer, milk jug shape you favour, etching pen, etc.). Looking forward to turning my kitchen into a mini café with your guidance.
