WordPress Migration to Combine two WP Installations

We're looking to integrate our separate WordPress blog into the main website.com site to streamline it as a single WordPress installation, while maintaining our SEO performance. Work to be completed on staging site already set up.

Primary Goals:
-Consolidate into one WordPress installation.
-Preserve existing Google rankings.
-Preserve all existing blog URLs whenever possible.
-Preserve all SEO metadata.
-Maintain all images and media.
-Preserve internal linking.
-Launch with no broken pages.

Deliverables

The project is complete when:

✔ One WordPress installation remains
✔ All blog posts migrated
✔ All images working
✔ Categories preserved
✔ Tags preserved
✔ SEO metadata preserved
✔ URLs preserved or redirected
✔ XML sitemap functioning
✔ Google Search Console updated

Scope of work

1. Migrate Blog Content

Import all:

Posts
Pages (if applicable)
Categories
Tags
Authors
Featured images
Media library
Image galleries
Comments (if desired)

2. Preserve URLs

Existing blog URLs should remain unchanged whenever possible.

Example:
https://www.peaksports.com/sports-psychology-blog/example-post/

Should continue working after migration.
If any URLs change, create permanent (301) redirects.

3. Preserve SEO

Preserve:

SEO Titles
Meta Descriptions
Canonical URLs
Open Graph data
Schema (if applicable)
XML Sitemap

4. Images

Copy all:

Featured images
Embedded images
Attachments

Update image paths where necessary. Verify there are no broken images.
