Squarespace Campaign Site Build-Out

Job ID: 40580561

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

Request for Proposal: Campaign Website Build-Out (Squarespace)
Project: christianwulf.com

Project Overview
I am seeking an experienced Squarespace web designer/developer to build a single-page (or lightly multi-page) campaign website for a local political candidacy. The site's content, structure, and design direction are already finalized. This is a build-out engagement, not a from-scratch creative project: I need someone to translate an existing visual mockup and finished written content into a polished, functional, mobile-responsive Squarespace site.
The domain (christianwulf.com) is already registered and a Squarespace account/plan is already in place.

Scope of Work
Build out the site in Squarespace based on a visual design mockup that will be shared directly with the selected freelancer (not posted publicly at this stage).
Implement finalized written content (provided below) across the homepage and a "Get Involved" section/page.
Set up a clean, mobile-responsive layout consistent with the provided mockup's color scheme, typography direction, and layout structure.
Configure standard site functionality:
A working contact form
A prominent donation button linking to an external ActBlue fundraising page
Social media links (Instagram, Facebook)
A QR-code-friendly, fast-loading homepage suitable for linking from printed campaign materials
Basic on-page SEO setup (meta title, meta description, page titles).
Light image sourcing/placement guidance if needed (final campaign photography will be provided separately once available; placeholder treatment may be needed in the interim).
One to two rounds of revisions based on feedback.

Deliverables
Fully built and published site live at christianwulf.com on the existing Squarespace plan
Mobile and desktop responsive layouts
Brief written or recorded walkthrough of how to make basic future edits (text swaps, image swaps, edits to hyperlinks) without needing a developer
20 minutes of live Zoom-based tutoring, scheduled after launch, focused specifically on: editing site text, updating links, and replacing images (including the hero/banner photo once final campaign photography is available)

Content Provided
The following finalized content will be provided in full to the selected freelancer and is ready to implement as-is (light formatting adjustments are fine, but the substance should not be altered without check-in):
Hero tagline
First-person candidate bio (bullet format)
Policy priorities section (four platform planks with headers and short descriptions)
Closing call-to-action copy
"Get Involved" page copy (canvassing, donation, and other ways to help)

Design Reference
A finished visual mockup exists and will be shared directly with the selected freelancer upon award (not included in this public posting). The mockup specifies:
Color palette (navy, light blue, and teal)
Header/navigation treatment
Hero section layout and typography hierarchy
Section structure for the homepage
The build should closely follow this mockup's visual direction. Deviations for technical or best-practice reasons are welcome as suggestions, but the overall look and feel should match what's provided.
Additional reference: I will also share a link to an existing website that served as visual inspiration for the mockup (the site of the local political organization that nominated me as a candidate). This is a live, publicly accessible site, and is provided purely as style/tone reference, not a template to copy directly.
Note on hero/banner photo: A landscape-orientation photo of the candidate for the hero banner is not yet available (professional campaign photography is scheduled separately). In the interim, I will provide a photo of a wooded landscape to use as a placeholder. Please build the hero section so this placeholder can be easily swapped for the final landscape photo later, ideally in a way I can do myself following the tutoring session described above.

Platform & Technical Requirements
Platform: Squarespace (existing account and plan already active)
Access: Freelancer will be granted collaborator access to the Squarespace site; no separate hosting or domain setup required
Timeline: Site should be ready for review within [insert desired turnaround, e.g., 1-2 weeks] of project start
Budget: Please propose your rate (flat project fee preferred over hourly) based on the full scope above, including the one-hour Zoom tutoring session. I'd like a single all-in quote rather than tutoring billed separately.

Bidder Qualifications
Demonstrated experience building sites in Squarespace (please include 2-3 relevant portfolio examples)
Comfortable working from a provided visual mockup rather than starting from a blank creative brief
Responsive communicator, available for a short turnaround
Prior experience with political, nonprofit, or local campaign websites is a plus but not required

How to Apply
Please submit:
A brief note on your relevant experience and Squarespace portfolio links
Your proposed flat-fee bid for the scope described above
Your estimated turnaround time
Any clarifying questions about the mockup or content before formal award (the mockup will be shared with shortlisted candidates upon request)
