Senior Shopify Architect – Warehouse Theme – Custom UI & 10-Year Data Migration
Budget: $400 – $600 CAD
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
I am rebuilding www.itekcanada.com from scratch on a new Shopify OS 2.0 account. This is a technical overhaul for a store with 10 years of history. We are preparing the "Shell" to host 24,000+ SKUs.
IMPORTANT: I am NOT looking for a basic theme installer. I need a Data Architect who is also a CSS/Liquid expert. You must build a high-end, high-performance "Shell" ready for mass expansion.
(Note: Mass product import is Phase 2 and is NOT part of this specific contract).
SECTION 1: Brand Soul & Custom UI (CSS/Liquid Expertise)
Visual DNA Transfer: Modernize the "iTekCanada" identity. I want a sleek, premium, and modern version of my current site—NOT the generic, boxy Warehouse look.
Custom Components: Replicate and optimize my custom "Free Shipping Progress Bar" (Truck animation), custom button styles, and unique trust badges using clean code (Liquid/CSS) to maintain speed.
Speed Performance: The "Empty Shell" must achieve a 90+ Mobile Score on Google PageSpeed Insights.
SECTION 2: Legacy Data & History Migration (10-Year Depth)
Customer Database: Full migration of the entire customer list, including tags, notes, and marketing preferences.
Order History: Migration of 10 years of sales history (Orders) to maintain financial reporting and customer account accuracy.
Review Infrastructure: Install and custom-style Reputon widgets. Prepare the mapping so reviews auto-link to SKUs during the Phase 2 product import.
SECTION 3: Strategic Architecture & Metafields (Phase 2 Prep)
Metafield Definitions: Create the structural "mapping" for all technical specifications:
Batteries: Voltage, mAh, Chemistry, Compatibility Lists, and Batch/Lot management logic.
Ink & Toner: Yield, Color, Page Capacity, and Printer Compatibility.
Navigation & Logic: Build a high-performance Mega Menu and Footer. Set up Automated Collections based on these Metafields so future products categorize themselves instantly.
B2B & Loyalty: Configure the infrastructure for a Wholesale/Reseller portal (custom pricing/login) and a Loyalty/Rewards program.
SECTION 4: App Stack & Native Automations
Complete installation, styling, and logic configuration for:
Searchanise: Setup "Instant Search" UI with advanced sidebar filters (Voltage, mAh, etc.) using Metafields.
Native Automations: Configure Shopify’s native flows for Abandoned Carts, Welcome Series, and Post-Purchase follow-ups (replacing legacy 3rd party apps).
Strategic Apps: Redirectify (Master 301 strategy for 10 years of URLs), EasySearch (Year/Make/Model), Advanced Shipping Rules (Hazardous goods logic), Transcy (EN/FR Bilingual & Currency), Google Shopping Feed Pro, and Orderly Emails.
SECTION 5: Requirements & Selection Criteria
Portfolio: You MUST provide links to at least 2 active Shopify stores you’ve built with 10,000+ SKUs using Warehouse or Empire themes.
Technical Test: You must demonstrate how you use native Shopify Metafields (not tags) for technical filtering.
Working Environment: Work must be performed on a Development Store. You will provide a clean, documented hand-off.
