PHP Blog Module Integration & Customization
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
We are seeking a skilled and experienced PHP developer to integrate a robust and user-friendly blog module into our existing PHP website. The primary goal is to create a seamless content management and display experience for our blog, matching our current website's design and functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Blog Module Integration: Integrate a suitable PHP-based blog solution into our existing website. This could involve:
o Implementing a pre-built, lightweight PHP blog script (preferred if it meets our needs).
o Custom development of a blog module from scratch (if a suitable script isn't found or if specific custom features are required).
o (Optional, if open to it): Integrating WordPress into a subdirectory and custom-theming it to match our site. Please state your preference/expertise here.
• Admin Panel Development/Customization:
o Develop or customize an intuitive backend admin panel for creating, editing, publishing, and managing blog posts.
o Features should include: WYSIWYG editor for content, post titles, slugs, categories/tags, featured images, publish/unpublish options, and date management.
o User management for authors/administrators (if not already handled by existing site's system).
• Frontend Integration & Theming:
o Ensure the public-facing blog pages (post lists, single post views) seamlessly integrate with our current website's header, footer, navigation, and overall CSS styling.
o The blog should look and feel like an integral part of our site, not a separate entity.
• Database Integration:
o Properly design and integrate the blog's database tables (posts, categories, etc.) with our existing MySQL database (or establish a new, separate but well-managed database if necessary and justified).
• SEO Best Practices:
o Implement SEO-friendly URLs (slugs).
o Consider meta title/description fields for posts.
• Security & Performance:
o Ensure the module is developed with security in mind (e.g., input validation, SQL injection prevention).
o Optimize for good loading performance.
What We're Looking For:
• Proven experience in PHP web development and database integration.
• Strong understanding of MySQL.
• Experience with building or integrating CMS functionalities (blogging a plus).
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for seamless frontend integration.
• Ability to write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
• Excellent communication skills and responsiveness.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
To Apply, Please Include:
1. Relevant Portfolio/Case Studies: Links to previous blog or CMS integration projects you've worked on.
2. Proposed Approach: Briefly describe how you would approach this project (e.g., recommend a specific lightweight blog script, outline your custom development process, or your approach to WordPress integration).
3. Estimated Timeline: A rough estimate of how long you expect this project to take.
4. Your Rate: Your hourly rate or a fixed-price quote for the entire project.
5. Questions: Any initial questions you have about our existing codebase or requirements.
We look forward to reviewing your proposals!
