Netflix-Style Streaming Website Development

I’m building a sleek, Netflix-inspired web app where visitors can freely browse both movies and TV shows, drill into rich detail pages, and enjoy a lightning-fast, fully responsive experience that feels every bit as polished as the real thing.

Core scope
• Clean, modern UI that automatically adapts to mobile, tablet, and large-screen layouts.
• Smooth grid and carousel browsing for movies and series, complete with search and category filtering.
• Dedicated title pages showing synopsis, cast, run time, and hero artwork, wired for future trailer playback.
• Snappy performance using techniques such as code-splitting, lazy loading, and image optimisation so pages render almost instantly.
• A personal watchlist: users can add or remove any movie or show, with the list persisting across sessions (local storage or API endpoint—your recommendation is welcome).

Tech flexibility
React + TypeScript is my first thought, but I’m open to Vue, Next.js, or SvelteKit if you can demonstrate equal or better results in speed and SEO friendliness. A lightweight backend or mock API is acceptable for now; I mainly care about the front-end flow and UX polish.

Deliverables

- Clear setup instructions (npm install & run)
- Brief README outlining major components, state management, and performance tactics
- Deployed demo link for quick review
