Grav CMS – Navigation and Dropdown Menu Issue (Only for Freelancers with Grav CMS Experience)

Job ID: 39017816

Budget: €8 – €30 EUR

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an experienced Grav CMS freelancer to help us solve a specific navigation issue. The menu on our website is not functioning as expected: the main menu items and the dropdown menu are not displayed correctly, especially in the desktop version. Despite adjustments to templates and CSS, the changes are not taking effect as intended.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

- The main menu items (e.g., Home, Hygiene, Knowledge A-Z, Company) should be displayed side by side, but they are currently grouped within a dropdown menu under a single menu item.
- The dropdown menu (e.g., Company → History, Values) should only appear on hover or click on the "Company" menu item, but it is either always visible or not positioned correctly.
- The mobile navigation works independently, but it might be causing CSS or JavaScript conflicts with the desktop version.
- Styles from other CSS files (e.g., theme.min.css, spectre.css) seem to override the adjustments in custom.css.
- The files navigation.html.twig and base.html.twig have been modified, but the changes are not reflecting as expected.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE FREELANCER:

- Experience with Grav CMS, including knowledge of the template structure, Twig templates, and the Grav theme framework.
- Expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the ability to implement complex menu structures and dropdown behavior.
- Debugging skills, including resolving CSS and JavaScript conflicts and managing Grav and browser cache effectively.
- Clear and efficient communication about project progress and documentation of all changes made.

PROJECT GOALS:

- Main menu items should be displayed side by side in the desktop version, and dropdown menus should function correctly on hover or click.
- Ensure that desktop and mobile menus work independently without interfering with each other.
- Implement changes in custom.css and/or the respective Twig templates, ensuring that adjustments are not overridden by other files.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

- The website is built on Grav CMS using the Quark theme.
- Changes have been made to navigation.html.twig, base.html.twig, and custom.css.
- The cache (Grav and browser) has been cleared several times without success.
- The website is live, so changes must be implemented with minimal downtime.
- URL of target site: https://content.loxonet.de/bergader/unternehmen

BUDGET AND TIMELINE:

- Only your final bid counts
- Project to be started immediately and finished within max. 2 hrs.
