Full-Stack Expense Tracker Solution

I need a production-ready expense-tracking web application built with the following stack: Java Spring Boot for the API layer, React.js on the front-end, MySQL as the data store, all secured with JWT-based authentication. Code quality, clean architecture, and concise documentation are as important as the features themselves because I have to deploy and maintain this system internally.

Core features I must see on day one:
• Expense categorisation with the ability to add custom categories on the fly
• Recurring-expense handling (daily, weekly, monthly) including automatic posting and easy edits
• Multi-user access with role-based controls so individual data stays private while allowing admin oversight

The dashboard should surface three report types out of the box:
• Monthly spending trends
• Category-wise breakdowns
• Income-vs-expense comparisons

Speed matters—the sooner you can deliver, the better, as I’m aiming to put the app in front of testers ASAP. A short, iterative timeline with frequent pushes to a Git repo will help keep things moving.

I’ll consider the project complete when:
1. The UI/UX is responsive and functions flawlessly across modern browsers.
2. All endpoints are documented (Swagger or similar) and protected by JWT.
3. The three reports render accurately from seeded sample data.
4. A single command (or script) spins up the full system locally using Docker or clear setup instructions.
5. Source code includes basic unit tests for the back-end and component tests for key React views.
