Frontend design for custom CMS
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
The project is a content management system with multiple related but distinct frontends.
The frontend side is nothing more than very bare bones and preliminary HTML at the moment; it merely serves as a very low-fidelity wireframe. The job is to turn these bare-bones templates into a professional-looking frontend, which will include designing a colour scheme, a logo, and optimising the pages for SEO. A more specific specification will be provided.
Required:
- Experience with frontend web design in a broad sense of the term
- Logo design
- Coming up with a suitable colour scheme and typography
- Correct use of semantic HTML
- Responsive design: should look good on all screen sizes
- SEO-optimisation
- …
- Capable of managing, independently, the design aspect of the project based on relatively abstract requirements by by asking questions, incorporating feedback and working iteratively
- Good command of English
- A basic understanding of version control and git
- Able to start working in the week of June 13.
Pro but not strictly required:
- Experience with one or multiple design and prototyping tools (Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch,…)
- A basic understanding Docker and docker-compose to easily spin up a fully functioning local environment with all dependencies, including a local database.
- Some familiarity with Wagtail and Django’s templating system, or the ability to learn this quickly.
It is not required to have any significant experience with frontend development (e.g. ReactJS, Angular, Vue,…), as this is not relevant to the task.
Please include an example of a website — either live or through your personal portfolio or even an attachment to this application— you designed in your application. Also include what aspects of that design you were responsible for and/or whether you used any frameworks (Bootstrap, Normalise,...) Applications without a concrete example will not be considered!
