Complete Joomla 1.5 to Wordpress migration
Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD
I'm looking for a developer to transfer content from the Joomla 1.5 website https://evaluationtoolbox.net.au/ to a new Wordpress site with the same URL.
The Evaluation Toolbox website is a free educational resource developed approximately 15 years ago. Whilst the content is old, the site is still used by the general public and evaluation / international development specialists. Joomla 1.5 is not secure and the site is hacked frequently. Upgrading Joomla versions is possible, however, we think maintaining a site in Wordpress will be easier in the long run. I'm open to having a conversation with a developer about staying with Joomla if the process is faster and easier.
All content on the existing Toolbox site should be migrated with the exception of:
* Case studies (https://evaluationtoolbox.net.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=69&Itemid=166 )
* The "Donate now" feature on the home page (unless it is easy to implement in Wordpress)
There are no complicated features or interactive components on the website. It can be thought of as static content. There are approximately 50 existing pages of content and 38 downloadable documents.
Additional content and changes requested:
* A new clean style
* A new Evaluation Toolbox banner image
There was some work done earlier by a developer to migrate the Toolbox to Joomla 3.0. This migration was not completed, however, there may be the opportunity to re-use the banner image and rough design (See attached file for an early image of the draft Joomla 3.0 site) . It may be possible to restore the Joomla 3.0 site that was created and automatically port/transfer the content from Joomla to Wordpress - I'm not sure if that will be possible with Joomla 1.5 as the starting point. I have a Joomla Akeeba backup (JPA) file for the Joomla 3.0 site.
