Given is a Python program that generates web pages (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) from Markdown texts. The generated web pages already contain a working button to switch between light and dark mode.
I want the generated web pages to start already in light or dark mode, depending on the settings of the caller's web browser. For this I need a patch for the Python program that generates the web pages.
The solution should work in current Chrome, Firefox and Safari web browsers on current Android, iOS, Linux, macOS and Windows. Older web browser versions and all older operating system versions may be ignored.
