AML/CTF Compliance Officer for Crypto MSB
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
1. Company Overview
We are a newly incorporated Money Services Business (MSB) registered or
registering under FINTRAC in Canada. Our platform provides custodial
cryptocurrency wallet services using Fireblocks, with crypto-to-fiat
hedging via FinaryMarkets. End-user cards will be issued via third-party
EMI providers in the EU or UK, linked to crypto balances.
2. Scope of Services Required
We are seeking a qualified service provider to deliver outsourced
AML/CTF Compliance Officer (CCO) services to fulfill our regulatory
obligations under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist
Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and FINTRAC guidelines.
3. Responsibilities of the AML Officer
* Act as the designated AML/CCO for our company.
* Develop, maintain, and update our AML/CTF compliance program.
* Ensure adherence to all FINTRAC reporting obligations (STRs, LCTRs,
TPRs, etc.).
* Participate in regulatory inspections, audits, and correspondence with
FINTRAC.
* Oversee KYC/KYB procedures (client onboarding, ongoing due diligence).
* Support the risk assessment framework and periodic reviews.
* Train internal staff on AML/CTF obligations as required.
* Be available for consultation and decision-making as needed (5–10
hours/month expected initially).
4. Additional Requirements
* Proven experience working with Canadian MSBs regulated by FINTRAC.
* Familiarity with crypto-related compliance and risk models.
* Ability to operate remotely with documentation and secure
communication.
* English proficiency (mandatory); French is a plus.
* Optional: experience interacting with banks or PSPs on behalf of
crypto MSBs.
