Write a sci-fi Novella: The Toy House
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
Toy house
So, we have two brothers home alone at the start of summer break. Their parents are out of the country for a trip for the week. Grant, 19, will be starting his second year of college while his little brother Austin, 14 will be retaking 8th grade.
One Saturday morning a package arrives that they weren’t expecting. Inside is a strange model house that looks like one of those antique Christmas houses and it stands about 10 inches tall. A two story miniature house. It also comes with a black skillet looking platform that plugs into the wall, a remote, and a manual. The house when set on the plugged in platform comes alive and if the door is touched a person can be shrunk and transported inside at a scale of just an inch tall. When unplugged objects are permanently shrunk and can be removed without growing back.
After exploring the house Austin will play a prank on his older brother by sneaking out and unplugging it, effectively leaving his brother the size of a toy and keeps him.
The remote can change the size of the house and occupants as well, shrinking the house down as small as a di, the people inside just a millimeter tall.
