Write Adventure Picture Book
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m putting together a brightly-coloured picture book for preschoolers (ages 3 – 5) and need an imaginative writer who can spin a gentle, fun-filled adventure that captivates little listeners from the very first page. The language must be simple enough for read-aloud sessions, with playful repetition and clear emotional beats that make turning each page feel exciting.
The story will be paired with cartoonish illustrations, so every scene you craft should naturally invite bold shapes, expressive characters, and vibrant settings. While I’m happy to hire an illustrator separately, your manuscript should include concise art notes that guide the visual style, pacing, and page turns.
Deliverables I need from you:
• A complete manuscript of roughly 600–800 words, broken into spreads (ideal for a 24–32-page layout).
• Brief illustration notes for each spread, written to inspire a cartoonish look without restricting artistic flair.
• A short synopsis and character list so I can pitch the concept to illustrators and publishers.
Once I review the first draft, we’ll have one round of revisions to tighten language or adjust pacing. After final approval, please supply the manuscript in both Word and PDF formats.
