Translate Short Stories to Spanish

Job ID: 39811376

Budget: $2 – $8 AUD

I have a collection of contemporary English-language short stories—around 25 k words—that I’m preparing for a young-adult readership in Spanish. The finished version must read naturally, hitting that sweet spot between literal accuracy and cultural adaptation while keeping a relaxed, conversational tone.

You’ll be working from a single Word document. I need the translation returned in the same layout so my editor can run Track Changes without hassle. Idioms, cultural references, and dialogue should feel authentic to a broad Spanish-speaking audience, but please avoid regional slang that might alienate readers outside one country.

CAT tools such as Trados or memoQ are welcome if they help your workflow, yet the real priority is a keen literary ear and consistency throughout the manuscript.

Deliverables
• Publication-ready Spanish manuscript in .docx, mirroring original formatting
• One-page translator’s note outlining any significant cultural or stylistic choices

If we click creatively on this project, there’s a second anthology queued up next. Let’s bring these stories to life for Spanish-speaking young adults together.
