Spanish Fairy Tale Localization Project

Job ID: 39889455

Budget: $250 – $750 AUD

I have written a fairy tale in English and want it carefully localized into Spanish so it resonates with both teenagers and adult readers. I’m looking for a translator-editor who can do more than a literal translation—someone who can transpose humor, wordplay, and emotional beats so the story feels as if it were originally crafted in Spanish.

What I need from you:
• A full Spanish manuscript that reads naturally and fluently, preserving the original tone while adjusting idioms and references for a Spanish-speaking audience.
• Consistent character voices and age-appropriate language that still engages older readers.
• A brief translator’s note (1-2 pages) highlighting any significant cultural or stylistic decisions you made, so I can understand your choices.
• Delivery in Word or Google Docs with optional tracked changes for any line-level suggestions or clarifications.

I’ll supply the final English draft once we start. The story is under 10,000 words, and I’m available to answer questions about plot points or context along the way. If you have experience localizing YA or adult fantasy, please mention it and share a sample—published work, excerpts, or a short passage you’ve translated.

Quality, narrative flow, and cultural authenticity are my priorities, so polish and attention to nuance matter more than sheer speed, though I would like the finished file within two weeks of awarding the project. I look forward to working with someone who can bring my tale to life for Spanish readers.
