Psychological Horror-Thriller Feature Film Outline

Job ID: 39251515

Budget: $2 – $8 USD

THIS IS HOURLY NOT FLAT RATE
I’m seeking an experienced creative writer to craft a detailed outline for a two-hour horror-thriller feature film. The story blends elements of Se7en, The Silence of the Lambs, You’re Next, and Longlegs, with an Ari Aster-style psychological and existential horror influence.

Project Overview:
The film follows an FBI agent and her new partner as they investigate a serial killer targeting law enforcement. As they investigate the reason behind the murders of law enforcement, they realize the murders are part of a larger, decades-spanning design—one that manipulates their very sense of reality and ties them to the case in ways they never imagined.

What I Need:
• A 5 to 12-page outline breaking down the film’s three-act structure, including key plot points, major twists, character arcs, and thematic elements.
• A strong psychological horror atmosphere, with a creeping sense of existential dread.
• A killer with a unique methodology and philosophy, avoiding clichés while maintaining a chilling presence.
• Character-driven storytelling, where the protagonists’ psyches unravel as they realize their deeper connection to the case.
• Climactic moments that are disturbing, unpredictable, and emotionally haunting.

Ideal Candidate:
• Experience with horror-thrillers or psychological horror.
• Strong grasp of crime procedural elements and investigative storytelling.
• Ability to create compelling, layered characters who feel real.
• Familiarity with the styles of David Fincher, Ari Aster, and Bryan Bertino (The Strangers).
