Post-Magic Dystopian Novel Writer
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I’m commissioning a 70,000–100,000-word dystopian adventure that will launch an ongoing series set in a world where magic has abruptly vanished and civilization now struggles with the fallout. The story should follow a reluctant hero who is thrust into a high-stakes quest that uncovers how the disappearance of magic reshaped society—and whether it can, or should, ever return.
Tone & style
The narrative needs the grit and tension of classic dystopia while delivering the momentum of an adventure. Think fast-moving plot, vivid world-building, and characters whose moral choices matter. Dialogue should feel grounded; exposition should be woven naturally into action rather than delivered in large info-dumps.
Series vision
Although this book must stand on its own, it should plant expandable seeds—recurring conflicts, factions, and lore points that can be deepened in future installments.
Deliverables
• One-page story synopsis for approval
• Chapter-by-chapter outline
• Complete first draft (70k–100k words) in Word or Google Docs
• One revision incorporating my feedback
• Brief series bible (1–2 pages) summarizing characters, world rules, and loose arcs for at least two sequels
Acceptance criteria
The final manuscript must:
• Stay within the word-count range
• Center on a reluctant hero and maintain a consistent dystopian-adventure tone
• Conclude the main plot while leaving organic threads for the next book
• Be original and pass plagiarism checks
Timeline and milestones are flexible; we’ll agree on them once we’ve aligned on the outline. If this sounds like a world you’re eager to build, let’s talk pages and plot twists.
