I have a ten-page excerpt from an English-language play and I need it rendered into rich, traditional Te Reo Māori that feels natural on stage and resonates with a general audience. While I want the translation to be culturally adapted—using authentic idioms, oratory flourishes, and chant where appropriate—the backbone of the original dialogue must stay intact. Character names and the overall line-by-line structure should mirror the source so the director can match cues without extra editing.

Because humour and word-play from the original are not essential this time, you are free to craft language that privileges clarity, rhythm, and cultural depth over literal jokes. Think of it as rewriting the heart of the scene for a Māori ear, then weaving in brief karakia or haka-style cadence whenever it heightens emotion or advances the plot.
