French Literary Translation Needed
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
I have a piece of French creative writing—part poems, part narrative—that I want rendered faithfully in English without losing its rhythm or imagery. Your role is to capture the author’s voice, tone, and cultural nuance rather than simply converting words.
The source file is cleanly formatted and ready to share as soon as we start. I’ll be available throughout the project to clarify idioms, regional references, or thematic intent, but I’m counting on your literary sensitivity to carry most of that weight.
Deliverables should be:
• A polished English manuscript in an editable Word document
• A short translator’s note explaining any unavoidable shifts in meaning or structure
Fluency in both languages is essential, but what really matters is your ability to make an English reader feel the same emotions a French reader feels. If you have samples of previous book or poetry translations, I’d love to see them with your proposal.
