Foundation Grant for Christian Non-Profit
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I am in search of a professional grant writer with a strong track record in securing foundation grants. The grant I am pursuing is the Lilly Endowment: Nurturing Children Through Worship and Prayer Initiative. Lilly Endowment seeks to support highly promising and creative endeavors that help children come to know and love God and grow in faith.
The non-profit I founded back in 2013 produced children’s ministry curriculum and resources. It has sold products in the US and abroad, but has stopped producing materials and so it has been dormant for the last 5+ years. I am a Children’s Pastor in the Chicagoland area for the last 25 years. This is my primary calling and the reason I was unable to dedicate more time to my non-profit.
Nowadays, my non-profit only brings in about $500 a year in royalties which barely covers the minimal expenses. I have never taken any salary and would like to keep it that way. The non-profit’s goal has always been to get engaging and innovative resources in the hands of children’s ministry folks for little to no cost.
The grant I am proposing would be for around $800,000. I am very excited about the idea which I have had for the last 15 years and it fits in perfectly with the grant I am pursuing. I was planning to write the grant myself, but know that would not produce the best result.
I would love to talk with someone about my options. I will be paying for this service personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding and translating our project’s needs into a persuasive grant application
- No need to research opportunities as I will only be pursuing the Lily Endowment
Ideal Skills:
- Proven success in securing foundation grants
- Strong writing, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of children's ministry and/or Christian non-profits
Strong comprehension of the grant application process and familiarity with foundation grants is paramount for the success of this project. I'm seeking a freelancer who particularly understands how to tailor a proposal effectively to secure funding.
