Fiction Story Translation Into German - 15/05/2026 16:28 EDT
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I have a collection of fiction stories written in English that I’d like rendered faithfully into German. The emphasis is on preserving narrative voice, pacing, and any subtle humour or cultural nuance already present in the text so the reading experience feels native-German rather than “translated.”
You will work directly from the original English manuscripts; there are no intermediary files or previous translations to reference. A solid literary background or previous work on creative texts will be helpful, as I prefer natural-sounding prose over literal, word-for-word conversion.
Deliverables
• A polished German version of each story in an editable format (DOCX or Google Docs).
• A brief translator’s note per story highlighting any cultural adaptations or unavoidable shifts in meaning.
Acceptance criteria
• All dialogue, idioms, and stylistic flourishes read naturally to a native German speaker.
• No omissions or additions to the plot.
• Final files are proof-read and free of spelling or grammatical errors.
If you enjoy creative translation and have a keen eye for storytelling details, let’s bring these English tales to life for a German-speaking audience.
