Educational Twisted Tales for Children
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I'm looking for a talented writer to transform traditional tales into creative, engaging, and educational twisted tales. These tales will be targeted at children and used for a radio program.
Key Requirements:
- Transform traditional fairy tales and other folk stories into twisted tales
- Ensure the new stories are suitable for Year 6 children, in line with our educational goals
- Provide a fresh and engaging perspective on these well-known stories
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in creative writing, particularly in adapting existing stories
- A background in education or writing for children is a plus
- Strong understanding of the nuances of different traditional tales
- Ability to work to a brief and meet deadlines

*Features of a story, short stories to be written
*Describe settings, character and atmosphere within story
*Spell Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 spelling words correctly
*Integrate dialogue using speech to convey character and advance the action
*Use contracted form in dialogue in writing
*Use modal verbs to suggest degree of possibility
*Use a range of devices to build cohesion (conjunctions, adverbial of time and place, pronouns, synonyms)
*Use verb tenses consistently and accurately throughout writing
*Use a range of punctuation taught at Key Stage 2 (question marks, exclamation marks, ellipses, hyphens, dashes, brackets, commas for a list, speech marks)
