Educational Toddler Alphabet Book

Job ID: 39749228

Budget: £250 – £750 GBP

I’m putting together a sweet, educational picture-book that helps 1- to 3-year-olds explore the alphabet and first numbers. I have the concept and learning objectives laid out; what I need is a writer who can translate that vision into a lively, age-appropriate manuscript of roughly 24-28 pages (one letter or number per spread, plus a short intro and closing).

The tone should be playful yet clear, using simple, rhythmic sentences that toddlers can follow and caregivers can read aloud with ease. Each spread will pair a single letter or number with a short, engaging sentence and a relatable example (for instance, “A is for apple—one crunchy bite!”). While I’ll be hiring an illustrator separately, feel free to add concise art notes whenever a visual will reinforce comprehension.

Key things I’ll look for in your draft
• Vocabulary capped at toddler level (no more than one or two syllables whenever possible)
• Gentle repetition and sound play to boost retention
• A natural progression from A to Z, then 1 to 10, ending with a cheerful recap page

Please share a brief sample—two or three spreads is enough—so I can hear your style and pacing. Once we agree on the voice, I’ll expect a complete first draft within two weeks and one revision round after feedback.

If you have previous experience writing board books, early-learning rhymes, or literacy-focused content, that will help me feel confident we’re a match. Looking forward to seeing your ideas bring this little learning adventure to life!
