Detailed Beta Reading for Fiction
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I have a fiction manuscript aimed purely at entertaining the reader and narrated by an omniscient narrator. I am looking for someone with excellent command of North American or British English to perform a thorough beta reading, signaling strengths and weaknesses of rhythm, characterization, cohesion and plausibility.
What I need:
• Complete reading of the text (.docx or .pdf format).
• In-line comments pointing out confusing excerpts, plot inconsistencies or tonebreak.
• Final report summarizing general impressions, suggestions for pacing improvements and character development, as well as identifying any cultural stumbles that escape the American/European public.
I value honest but respectful feedback, and references to good writing practices when possible. If you already have experience as an editor, literary agent or sensitive reader, mention it in the proposal.
