Realistic Children’s Story Illustrations

I’m finishing a picture-book for kindergarten through fifth grade and now need 20–25 full-colour pages that feel realistic yet still spark a child’s imagination. The scenes revolve around everyday life in a fishing village—playgrounds, classrooms, family moments—rendered in bright, vibrant tones. Even without the text, each illustration should read like its own mini-story, so narrative clarity through expressions, body language, and background details is essential.

Here’s how I’d like to move forward:
• Share a short note describing your creative process from thumbnail to final art. I want to understand how you develop concepts, refine sketches, and handle feedback rounds.
• Show a sample spread or two in the style you propose; no AI-generated work, please—traditional or digital hand-drawn techniques only.
• We’ll structure the project in milestones that collectively sit in the $100–$300 range: concept sketches, coloured roughs, and polished finals. I release payment as each stage is approved so we both stay on schedule.
