Handmade School-Day Pop-Up Book -- 2
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I’m putting together a Year 1 competition entry called “A Day in the Life at School” and need a talented maker to turn the idea into a fully hand-crafted pop-up book. The look I’m after is bright, playful and clearly cartoonish so it instantly speaks to six-year-olds. Colours of school are red and grey. Mainly red. Their core values should be used.
Scope
• 5–7 interactive spreads, each one popping up to show classroom activities, playground time and lunch break in fun, dynamic layers.
• Original illustrations drawn, coloured and mounted by hand—no clip-art or digital printouts.
• Sturdy child-safe papers and adhesives so the pages survive eager little hands.
• Finished book bound neatly (simple stitch, concertina or another handmade method you recommend) and ready to handle. Maybe threads ?
Deliverables
1. The completed physical book, packaged securely for shipping.
2. A short set of clear photos or a brief video flip-through so I can preview and share progress before final dispatch.
Acceptance
I’ll sign off once every page pops up smoothly, colours match the cheerful cartoon style, and the three key moments—class, playground and lunch—are unmistakably featured.
