Experienced InDesign & EPUB Specialist Needed for Creative Partnership
I'm seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Adobe InDesign and EPUB specialist to join me in a long-term creative partnership. This is not a one-off project; I'm looking for a collaborator who is passionate about creating engaging, highly interactive digital publications.
All creative assets, including concept art, music, scripts, and 3D animation, will be supplied by me through shared Milanote mood boards. I have an existing library of scripts that I use to publish my work on platforms like Amazon and others. The publications are highly interactive, featuring embedded videos, audio, and other dynamic content. I need a partner who can take these assets and scripts and work with me to produce professional, high-quality EPUB files.
Your responsibilities will include:
EPUB Development: Utilizing my scripts to create and format interactive EPUB publications from the assets provided on Milanote.
EPUB Format and Conversion Expertise: Applying a deep understanding of various EPUB formats (e.g., EPUB 2, EPUB 3, reflowable vs. fixed-layout) and managing the conversion process to other e-book formats as needed for different platforms (e.g., to MOBI or AZW for Kindle).
Creative Problem-Solving: Working with me to troubleshoot issues, optimize workflows, and find innovative solutions for embedding complex media and interactive elements.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring that all EPUB files are clean, validated, and function correctly across multiple devices and reading applications.
Collaboration: Providing expert input and feedback on design and functionality to enhance the user experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
Extensive experience with Adobe InDesign, particularly with scripting and automation.
A strong portfolio of past work demonstrating proficiency in creating interactive EPUBs with embedded videos, audio, and other media.
A deep understanding of EPUB standards and best practices, as well as a working knowledge of various e-book formats and conversion processes.
Experience working with shared creative platforms like Milanote is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
A genuine interest in pushing the boundaries of digital publishing.
