I need a C++ software programmer knowledgeable of RS232 communications in Win 10 Environment

We have a Cognex DMR-152X-1120 scanner with a USB to RS232 interface. We need to imbed software that turns on the scanner, reads the data matrix 2D code, captures the read data and code quality and reports it back to our IMS software. Our IMS software is written in C++ using Visual Studio complier. Example of scanner command is ||>trigger on.
