i need to decode .so file

i have a shared object library file with extension .so (). It is compiled version of (.c/.h/.cpp) files which are C and C++ programming language files. I dont have source code but i needed it to be decompiled. So I can view and edit the code and recompile it back.
I need it ready in the .cpp format the actual code. The file is currently in ELF file Format.
