Write some simple functions in a language similar to C#

I am using a language that looks a lot like C# and I am looking for someone to help me write some simple functions in that language. The functions will be simple: count the number of characters in a given string, check if a substring is present in a given string, etc. You must be available to start now and finish asap. Background in maths is also helpful.
