Render SDL2 contents inside ImGui Window using C++
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
Overview
I need help with a small project using C++ with SDL2 and ImGui.
The idea is to have a scene (SDL2 contents) rendered inside an ImGui window. This scene should be interactable with other ImGui widgets, for example let's say we draw a triangle, we could have a button that changes the color of it in realtime, we may even have a SDL texture (e.g a logo/graphic) that we could render into the scene and be able to toggle the visibility / manipulate it for example.
Task Details
- SDL Main Window: Create a main window using SDL2
- ImGui Integration: Set up ImGui to work inside the SDL main window
- Render SDL in ImGui Window: Display SDL content inside an ImGui window (like a viewport)
I can do the first two fairly easy using the provided ImGui demo, it's simply a case of including and linking the relevant ImGui and SDL files and using the example code provided for the SDL2 backend.
The difficulty for me is trying to understand how to render SDL contents inside an ImGui window.
Requirements
- Experience with C++
- Familiarity with SDL2 and ImGui
- Clean and simple code
I've included some sample images I found to show what I want.
I believe this should not be too difficult a task for someone relatively experienced in C++ and the SDL and ImGui frameworks for that reason I will only consider lower bids.
If you're interested, please let me know and share any relevant experience thanks.
