Development of a Memory Analysis Tool for PC Game Research (C++)
Budget: $500 – $900 USD
I am seeking an experienced C++ developer to create a memory analysis tool for educational research purposes, focused on analyzing game data structures in a PC gaming environment (specifically a first-person shooter game). The tool will be used to study memory read operations in a controlled, single-player or offline setting, ensuring compliance with all relevant software terms and legal requirements. This project is for academic and research purposes only and must not be used to violate any game’s terms of service.
Project Scope: The tool should include the following features, implemented using read-only memory operations:
1. Data Visualization Module:
• Display bounding boxes around in-game entities (e.g., characters, vehicles) based on memory data.
• Color-code boxes based on visibility (e.g., red for obscured entities, green for visible ones).
• Include a toggle to enable/disable the visualization.
• Support visualization of vehicle entities (e.g., tanks, helicopters, planes).
• Ensure compatibility with an HDMI output device for display purposes.
2. Mouse Movement Simulation Module:
• Simulate mouse movements based on memory data, using external devices (KMBOX B+ PRO and MAKCU).
• Allow adjustable parameters for movement smoothing and field-of-view (FOV) radius.
• Include a “humanized” movement option to mimic natural mouse behavior.
• Support targeting vehicle entities.
3. Technical Requirements:
• Use signature-based memory scanning (instead of hard-coded offsets) to ensure compatibility with potential game updates.
• Develop in C++ with clean, well-commented code, written for beginners (explain each function as if the reader is new to C++).
• Integrate with provided libraries for memory read operations.
• Ensure the tool is compatible with provided KMBOX and MAKCU devices (I will supply these devices and libraries).
Deliverables:
• Source code with detailed comments explaining each function.
• Documentation on setup and usage.
• A working prototype tested in an offline or single-player environment.
Additional Notes:
• Please quote your real price upfront. I want to avoid price renegotiations after awarding the project (e.g., don’t bid $720 and later request $1300).
• The tool must be developed ethically and legally, respecting all game terms and intellectual property rights.
• Prior experience with game memory analysis, DMA, or device integration (e.g., KMBOX/MAKCU) is preferred. Please provide examples of similar projects.
• The project must comply with Freelancer.com’s User Agreement and all applicable laws.
