Create a Docker Container to Compile CGAL into WebAssembly
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We are seeking an experienced developer with expertise in Docker, Emscripten, and C++ to create a fully functional Docker container that compiles the Computational Geometry Algorithms Library (CGAL) into WebAssembly (Wasm).
Project Requirements:
Set up a Docker container with all necessary tools: Emscripten SDK, CMake, Boost, and CGAL.
Configure the container to download and compile CGAL for WebAssembly usage.
Ensure the build includes proper handling of CGAL's dependencies, such as Boost and GMP, using header-only options where possible.
Provide a simple Dockerfile and build instructions for ease of use.
Verify the Wasm build by running a basic CGAL test (like a simple Boolean mesh operation).
Expose common CGAL functions to JavaScript for direct usage in web projects.
Deliverables:
Dockerfile and supporting scripts.
Clear documentation on how to build and run the container.
Instructions on using the compiled CGAL WebAssembly module in a basic web project.
Ideal Skills:
Strong experience with Docker and containerization.
Familiarity with CMake, C++ libraries, and dependency management.
Experience with Emscripten and WebAssembly compilation.
Familiarity with CGAL and Boost libraries is a plus.
If you have experience with WebAssembly and C++ builds, we'd love to hear from you! Please include examples of similar work completed in your proposal.
