AT Commands response parser and reader

I have a firmware for my Simcom modem, and I am countering errors in the ability of the firmware in reading the responses from AT commands. For example, the AT commands (AT+CREG?) gives OK but the firmware couldn’t read it. I need someone has experienced similar issues and resolved them.
