Bot detection
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
Hi there
Let's imagine someone used a bot to browse your website. How would you detect this?
Off the top of my head, here are a few options:
* Presence of bot-specific signatures.
* Presence of common automation tools.
* Support of non-standard browser features.
* User agent browser / API mismatch, e.g. a Safari only API is available but the user agent claims to be Chrome.
* User agent OS / actual OS mismatch, e.g. a macOS only font is available but the user agent claims to be Windows 7.
Hopefully you get my meaning.
So what you'd need to do is use a bot to access a website and then try to detect that a bot is being used. You'd then improve the bot to avoid that detection technique, and then try some other way to detect the bot... and so on, ideally using lots of different automation tools.
This can be a long term project.
Please let me know what you can offer and we can figure something out.
Thanks!
