Recover & Secure WordPress Site

Within the last 24 hours my site centerforminds.org suddenly went offline. In cPanel the WordPress installation no longer appears, yet all core files and folders are still present when I open File Manager, so I suspect a misconfiguration rather than lost data. I have not changed plugins, themes, or settings recently and I have received no security alerts.

Here’s what I need:

• Diagnose why cPanel no longer recognises the existing WordPress instance and restore full front-end and back-end functionality.
• Verify integrity of the database via phpMyAdmin (or WP-CLI if that’s faster) and reconnect it if needed.
• Clean up any corrupted core files, fix path issues, and make sure updates run correctly.
• Implement basic hardening: disable default file editing, tighten folder permissions, install and configure a lightweight security/firewall plugin, set up automatic backups inside cPanel, and add a malware scan to catch future problems.
• Provide a short hand-off note so I understand what was fixed and the simple steps I should follow to keep the site healthy.
