Intermittent HTTPS Error
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I run a couple of sites on the same VPS (cPanel/WHM with EasyApache 4). Each domain has its own cPanel account, AutoSSL is enabled, certs are valid and forced HTTPS is turned on. Randomly, the first visit to any of these domains shows the browser warning “[domain] doesn’t support a secure connection with HTTPS.” A refresh immediately loads the page over HTTPS, but the warning eventually returns.
So far I have:
• Reinstalled the SSL certificates through AutoSSL and manually.
• Flushed local and server-side DNS caches.
The warning is still appearing, which is scaring visitors away. I need someone who can trace and eliminate the root cause—whether it’s an SNI mismatch, TLS/Apache mis-configuration, OCSP stapling hiccup, or any other cPanel/WHM nuance—then confirm that every domain consistently opens over HTTPS on first load.
Deliverables
1. Clear diagnosis with evidence (log excerpts or config references).
2. Permanent fix applied on the server.
3. Written summary of steps taken so I can keep documentation up to date.
Please be comfortable working inside WHM, EasyApache 4 and reading Apache.
