Full cPanel VPS Migration
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
My current VPS runs cPanel/WHM and hosts 5 accounts, around 30 email boxes, databases, DNS zones, and SSL certificates. I have ordered a fresh VPS with another provider and want the whole environment—root-level settings included—moved over with minimal downtime.
Scope of work
• Transfer the entire server, not just selected accounts.
• Preserve all custom configurations I have added over time (tweaked Exim rules, bespoke Apache modules, specific PHP versions, etc.).
• Verify that sites, email, cron jobs, DNS records, and SSL certificates all function on the new machine.
• Advise me whether any software or configuration updates are advisable during the move; I am open to guidance here.
• Provide a short rollback or contingency plan in case we hit unexpected issues.
• The server contains 236GB of stored data of which around 150GB is emails and around 85GB is website files and databases.
Acceptance criteria
1. All accounts load correctly from the new VPS with the same URLs and SSL status.
2. Mail flow, MySQL connectivity, and scheduled tasks work as before.
3. Custom tweaks listed above remain intact or are replaced with equivalent settings that you document.
4. DNS propagation is monitored and confirmed.
5. I receive a concise post-migration report with any changes made, commands run, and recommendations for future maintenance.
Access to both servers (root SSH and WHM) is ready as soon as we agree on the timeline.
