Fix WordPress SSL Update Error
Budget: €12 – €18 EUR
Each time I try to update WordPress on my shared-hosting installation I receive the message:
“Error en la actualización: Descarga fallida. cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate”.
No new plugins or themes have been added or updated recently, and my hosting provider has already reviewed the server without finding the cause. I therefore need an expert who can jump in, trace the SSL chain issue, and leave the site fully able to retrieve and install core, plugin and theme updates over HTTPS.
You’ll have cPanel and WordPress admin access, plus SSH if required. I expect:
• The underlying cURL/CA-bundle problem fixed (whether through certificate store updates, php.ini changes, or server configuration).
• WordPress core brought to the latest stable version.
• A quick test showing that at least one plugin and one theme update download correctly.
• A short note of what you changed so I can keep future certificates in order.
If you’ve handled similar SSL or cURL 60 errors on shared environments, this should be straightforward. Let me know your timeframe and any server details you might need in advance.
