Fix Almalinux WHM Boot Issue

Job ID: 40058850

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

My dedicated OVH server is back online after a rescue-mode kernel recovery, yet AlmaLinux starts without any trouble while WHM refuses to come up and root SSH access is suddenly rejected. Because several live sites sit on this machine, I need timely, hands-on remediation.

Current context
• AlmaLinux 8 on bare-metal OVH hardware
• cPanel/WHM installed; service currently “failing to start”
• I have not reviewed the WHM or system logs since the outage and would prefer you to investigate them yourself
• Rescue mode has already been exited; the OS now boots normally

What I’m looking for
1. Diagnose why WHM will not start (systemctl, journalctl, cPanel logs).
2. Restore WHM so it is reachable on ports 2086/2087 and all cPanel services (exim, httpd, dns, etc.) come up clean.
3. Re-enable or reset the root login so I can SSH and log in to WHM again.
4. Confirm that hosted websites load over HTTP/HTTPS before closing the session.

Acceptance
Job is complete when WHM’s login page responds without errors, root SSH works with a new or recovered credential, and I can browse a sample of the sites on the server.

If you have deep experience with AlmaLinux, cPanel/WHM, and OVH’s network quirks, please let me know your earliest availability so we can get these sites back online quickly.
