AlmaLinux & WHM Security Updates

Job Description:
We’re looking for an experienced Linux system administrator to troubleshoot and resolve a failed cPanel/WHM update on a live production server.

The system is currently running AlmaLinux 8.7 with cPanel/WHM version 124. Attempts to update via upcp are failing due to package and GPG-related errors.

This is a critical production environment, so the work must be handled carefully with minimal downtime.

Current Issues:

cPanel update failing (upcp)
Error: “Cannot upgrade until required system packages are installed”
GPG check failures during package installation
OS and cPanel updates are currently blocked

Scope of Work:

Diagnose and fix the upcp update failure
Resolve package dependency issues (yum/dnf)
Fix GPG key and repository problems
Successfully upgrade cPanel/WHM to the latest stable version
Ensure AlmaLinux is updated safely (8.x latest or advise on upgrade path)
Verify all services are running properly after update (web, mail, DNS, etc.)

Requirements:

Strong experience with cPanel/WHM and AlmaLinux/CentOS environments
Proven track record with similar update/upgrade issues
Ability to work safely on live production systems
Solid troubleshooting skills with package managers and repositories

Important Notes:

This is a live system – downtime must be minimized
Work should be done during a scheduled maintenance window
Backup/rollback strategy is required before making changes
