Baby Hygiene Product Design
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
Title: Prototype Development for Disposable Baby Hygiene Product (Newborns 0–3 Months)
Description:
I am looking for an experienced product designer or baby-product engineer to help develop a small disposable hygiene product designed to prevent unexpected urination during newborn diaper changes.
The product will be absorbent, soft, and safe for skin contact, and should be simple for parents to use with one hand during a diaper change.
You will help refine the concept, suggest suitable materials (primarily cotton or similar non-woven absorbent materials), and create a working physical prototype.
Key Requirements:
1. Ease of use:
Very simple to apply and remove
No hindrance during the diaper-changing process
2. Absorbency:
Should effectively catch and contain small volumes of sudden urination
3. Stays in place:
Stable during use
Should not shift or fall off easily
4. Safety:
Soft, breathable, newborn-safe materials
No sharp edges, hard parts, or irritants
Ideal Skills & Experience:
Experience designing baby products, diapers, hygiene pads, or absorbent products
Understanding of non-woven materials, cotton layers, SAP, or related absorbent technologies
Ability to develop cost-efficient prototypes
Strong communication skills and willingness to work iteratively
Experience creating physical prototypes, not just drawings
Project Deliverables & Milestones (Fixed Price):
Milestone 1 – Concept Development (25%)
2–3 refined concept variations
Initial sketches and explanation of each concept
Material recommendations (absorbent layer, top/bottom layers, optional adhesives)
Short feasibility assessment
Milestone 2 – Technical Design Pack (35%)
Finalized design
Technical drawings (dimensions, layering, shape)
Manufacturing/production considerations
Prototype construction plan and material list
Milestone 3 – Physical Prototype Delivery (40%)
Physical prototype shipped to me
Short test notes: absorbency, stability, usability
Final recommendations for next development steps
