CorelDRAW Plugin: Bitmap Outline to PLT data send to cutter machine
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have an existing CorelDRAW plugin that already performs basic bitmap tracing, but I need it pushed further so I can select a color image, extract a clean outer contour, and instantly export that path as PLT (HP-GL) for my lettering machine.
Key points you’ll be tackling:
• The source will always be color images, so the routine must ignore interior colors and focus on the exterior boundary of the bitmap.
• Once the vector outline is created, it needs to be written out as a PLT file with standard HPGL commands (PU, PD, etc.) that my plotter understands.
• Manual closure compensation is required—I want a simple UI slider or numeric field where I choose the gap or overlap value before the file is generated.
• Add a second adjustment for lettering-tool compensation (offset based on cutter width).
• Workflow must remain inside CorelDRAW (C# or VBA macro, Docker extension, or GMS—whichever you prefer) so the user experience is one-click: select bitmap → press “Export PLT”.
• Solution must run on the latest CorelDRAW Graphics Suite for Windows.
Deliverables:
1. Updated plugin/add-in with the new extraction, compensation, and export logic.
2. Source code with explanatory comments.
3. Quick user guide (PDF or video) showing the new options.
I’m looking to test within days, so an initial working build ASAP would be perfect, with refinements right after. Let me know your approach and any past work with CorelDRAW, HPGL, or plotting devices.
