Write copy seeking help for Disabled Children

Job ID: 36535334

Budget: $20 – $40 USD

The Disabled Children's Association ("DCA") is a non-profit 501(c)3 public charity whose mission is to help improve the quality of life for disabled children and their families. We work to help match and bring together disabled children with skilled caregivers, subject matter experts, and assistive technology providers for children with physical and/or mental health disabilities. You can see our preliminary website at www.dcaserves.org for more details.

DCA wants to develop a "trade show booth" for us to participate in trade shows, fairs, and local open-air markets to help build awareness and public support of the organization. This booth will consist of a 10' x 10' pop-up trade show tent over a large folding table with from which our staff can hand out brochures and meet and talk to people about DCA. Our goal with this booth is to: (1) introduce our availability to help disabled children in the community; (2) to seek partners, volunteers, professional caregivers, and assistive technology providers in the community; and, (3) to solicit donations to support our mission.

We are looking for a skilled copywriter to help us create materials for this trade show booth. We need compelling copy for promotional materials that will inspire and motivate individuals and organizations to support disabled children. As mentioned above, the main goals of the copy are to raise awareness about the challenges faced by disabled children, to recruit people and organizations that can help the children, and to solicit donations. The tone of the copy should be inspirational, encouraging readers to get involved and make a difference.

Specifically, as the deliverable, we need copy for:

1. BROCHURE: A 2-sided brochure printed on a single 8.5" x 11" page that is tri-folded in 3 sections with each section being 3.67" x 8.5" to be printed in an 11 point Arial (or similar) font with a few graphic images in the brochure. Please see attachment of "BrochureExample.jpg". The outside front panel of the brochure should contain our logo and a headline, "Help Disabled Children Thrive" and a compelling photo. The back panel will contain a call to action request, a statement (see banner text) about our being a non-profit 501(c)3 public charity, and our contact/address/website/phone information. The rest of the brochure should explain the mission/objectives, services provided, and a solicitation seeking referrals to disabled children, requests for volunteers, skilled professionals, assistive technology providers and partners, and a request for donations. The copy developed should support our branding as shown in the attached "Banner.jpg" and our www.dcaserves.org website.

2. FLYER: To be printed on 1 side of an 8.5" wide x 11" high (in portrait layout) paper that describes DCA and its mission as a take-home handout. The flyer should contain the same information as is printed on the attached "Banner.jpg" but should also include our contact info and a persuasive, emotion-invoking call to action that explains how people can get involved with DCA. The attached "flyer.jpg" gives an example

3. EASEL SIGN: Printed on a 24" wide x 36" high (in portrait layout). A sign that will contain our logo and text that calls trade show visitor passerby's to come into our booth to talk to us about disabled children and DCA.

Ideal skills and experience for this job include:

- Excellent writing skills, with a talent for crafting engaging and persuasive copy
- Experience writing for non-profit organizations or causes
- Ability to create copy that is both informative and emotional, conveying the importance of supporting disabled children
- A passion for making a positive impact in the world and a commitment to social justice

If you are a talented and compassionate copywriter who is passionate about making a difference, we would love to work with you to create copy that will inspire and motivate organizations to support disabled children.
